The Division recently approved licensing for our trademark
image to appear in two upcoming feature films.
Universal Pictures is in production on the film The Perfect
Man starring Hillary Duff and Heather Locklear. The romantic
comedy is about a girl, whose mom always chooses the wrong
guy, so she creates a secret admirer for her in the hopes
of thwarting her mom’s current beau. However, her
efforts create more complications than she had foreseen.
In a scene that will involve the image of the Ohio State
Highway Patrol, the film’s main characters are driving
cross-country and are issued a speeding citation by an
Ohio trooper (portrayed in the film by an actor, not a
real state trooper). Through the Trademark Licensing Program,
Universal Pictures was provided information and photographs
detailing the markings on the cruiser and sworn officer
uniform standards. More information on The Perfect Man
can be seen at www.universalpictures.com.
The upcoming feature length documentary 32 Hours 7 Minutes
being produced by Gravid Films, Inc., will also feature
the Ohio State Highway Patrol. 32 Hours 7 Minutes is based
on the actual Cannonball Run race, and its progression
to the even more daring U.S. Express. The races took place
between 1970 and 1983.
32 Hours 7 Minutes focuses on the last race and its winning
contestants. The winners finished the Manhattan, NY, to
Newport Beach, CA, run in the record time of 32
Hours 7 Minutes.
Now retired Tpr. Russell Brooks stopped one of the 11
teams for a speeding violation near Zanesville. As part
of the film, Brooks is interviewed and recounts issuing
the team a citation.
The segment about Ohio will also include photos and video
from the Patrol’s historical archives.

Minutes, including an
